Bio: Paola Di Gregorio was born in Rome and studied opera singing under the guidance of Anna Vandi. Paola came to the attention of the world of opera at a young age by winning important international competitions such as the "Mario Del Monaco", the “Caruso-De Lucia”, the “Aslico”, the “Città' di Adria" and the "M. Battistini". After winning the "M. Battistini" she made her professional debut in Rome in “Il Trovatore” at the National Theatre.
Thus began a successful international career which always sees her in the main protagonist roles such as Violetta in "La Traviata" which she performed in various theaters of northern Europe including the Opera House’s of Gothenburg and Copenhagen. In 2002 she sang the role of Aida at the National Opera Theatre of Seoul and later in the Cairo Opera House. Returning to Cairo in 2010 as Amelia in "Un Ballo in Maschera".
During the season of 2003-2004 she sang in Seville at the Lope De Vega Theater with a new production of Madame Butterfly. A role which she went on to reprise in other important Spanish theaters such as The Opera Romea in Murcia, the Theatre Principal of Alicante and at the inauguration of the "Del Bosque" Madrid Mostoles. During the same period she also sang the role of “Aida" in Arena di Verona, and in the Opera Theatre of Rome. During the following season, in the same theaters in Spain, Paola performed the roles of both Margherita and Elena during the same production of the “Mefistofele” of A. Boito. Returning to Alicante and Murcia she sang “Norma” of V. Bellini. In 2003 she opened the opera season in Zagreb with the role of Maria in "Simon Boccanegra".
After her debut performance in 1999 Paola’s professional singing career in Italy progressed with many roles such as the Queen of the Night in "The Magic Flute" in the Circuit City Opera (Livorno, Lucca, Pisa, Ravenna and Jesi). Then at the Theater Chiabrera in Savona with the roles F; and Cio Cio San e Butterfly”. Later reprising these roles in the Veneto regional opera circuit (Bassano, Treviso and Padova).In subsequent seasons she sang “Tosca” at the Theatre Sociale of Como, the Fraschini Theatre of Pavia and the Orfeo Theatre of Taranto; Matilde in Mascagni's “Silvano” in the festival of Colle Salvetti and in the Goldoni Theater of Livorno; and the main role of Christina in the first modern performance of U. Giordano’s "Mala Vita" in the Giordano Theatre in Foggia, the Verdi Theater in San Severo and the festival of Baveno.
In recent years, she once again took the role of Leonora in “La Trovatore” at Caracalla for the summer season of the Opera Theatre of Rome. In August 2011 she inaugurated the festival of Anzio with the role of Santuzza in “Cavalleria Rusticana”. She has also been an interpreter of contemporary music including the role of "Mama" in the world premier of the Opera "Il Gioco Dei Mostri" by Lucio Gregoretti for the Academy of Santa Cecilia of Rome. During the summer of 2012,13,14, she played the roles of “Aida”, Santuzza in “Cavalleri Rusticana” and Maddalena in “Andrea Chenier” while participating in many summer festivals in Italy like Albano, Anzio, Civitavecchia (Rome) and during the Leoncavallo’s festival in Calabria. She also reprised the role of Aida in Burghausen, Germany and in Graz, Austria. Paola has also performed in other important concerts through participation in several summer and winter seasons of the Festival of Sacred Music in churches throughout Rome. In recent years performing Mozart's “Requiem”, Bach’s “La passione secondo S. Matteo”, Pergolesi's “Stabat Mater”, Vivaldi's “Gloria” and Cimarosa’s “Il Sagrifizio di Abramo”. She also sang Verdi’s “Requiem” at the Summer Festival of Varna (Bulgaria) and Tirana (Albania).
