Bio: Guest performances already took the young Bulgarian soprano as KÖNIGIN DER NACHT at Staatsoper Wien, Volksoper Wien and the Hamburg State Opera, as LUCIA to Aalto Theatre in Essen, Opera in Bonn and Tiroler Landstheater Innsbruck, as ELVIRA in I Puritani again to Essen, as LAKME to Sofia National Opera and Maribor National Theatre and as GILDA to the Klagenfurt Theatre and Ljubljana Summer Festival etc. Future plans include AMINA in Sonnambula and MARGUERITE in Faust at National Theater Maribor 2017/18. In 2016/2017 she sings NORINA at National Theatre Maribor, LAKME in National Opera Sofia, concerts in Dubai and Istanbul etc. Her recent engagements include also ROSINA in Theatre Kaiserslautern, Italian Gala at Plovdiv Arena, AMELIA in I Briganti at Rossini Festival Bad Wildbad (recorded by Naxos Records USA and Deutsche Radio Kultur), ROSINA at Theater Sankt Gallen, LUCIA in Konzertgebau of Amsterdam, VIOLETTA in Netherlands, OLYMPIA in the new production of Les contes d’Hoffmann in Beijing NCPA etc. Petya Ivanova graduated the National Academy of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria in the class of prof. Blagovesta Karnobatlova. The young artist was a prizewinner at numerous young artists contests: Iris Adami Corradett in Padua, the Opera Contest Belcanto in Rijeka, Ondina Otta in Maribor, Boris Christoff as well as Christo Brambarov in Sofia. In the concert field as well, Petya Ivanova is a very sought-after singer. Hereby she can refer to co-operations with the Kuopio Philharmonic Orchestra, Finland, the Radio Symphony Orchestra of Ljubljana, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Sofia and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Sarajevo. She had also participated in Gala Concert at Oskaka Music Festival in Japan. Her concert repertoire includes rarities like “Concert for a coloratura soprano and orchestra” by Reinhold Gliere, “Lauda per la nativita del Signor” by Respighi, “Davide Penitente” by Mozart, “Como cievra Sedienta” by Arvo Pärt and “Stabat Mater” by Poulenc.
