Biography
Rainer Zaun, bass, was born in Wiesbaden, where he also received his first engagement as a play / character bass at the State Theater. Further fixed contracts followed at the Aachen Theater, Braunschweig State Theater, Nuremberg State Theater and Hagen Theater. He has had guest engagements at the Hamburg State Opera, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Oper Leipzig, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Staatsoper Unter den Linden Berlin, at the Musiktheater Essen, Nationaltheater Mannheim, Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Oper Bonn and Oper Bremen. Guest appearances have also taken him to the opera houses of Athens, Bologna, Lisbon, Vienna, Barcelona, Seville, Catania, Antwerp, Dublin, Palma de Mallorca, Klagenfurt, Innsbruck, San Francisco, Strasbourg, Beijing, Sapporo as well as the Tyrolean Festival Erl and Wagner Fest
