Biography
Born and raised in Stuttgart, Sebastian D. Schaffer was able to gain his first experience on stage while still at school. During his studies (music teacher at the HfM Detmold), scenic work, voice training and choir singing in the chamber choir, in the Baroque Academy and in several productions at the opera school of the HfM Detmold formed the focus of his artistic training. He took on solo roles as Volker in Oscar Straus' “Die Lustige Nibelungen” and first citizen in Otto Nicolai's “Die Lustige Frauen von Windsor”. He received important impulses from master classes with Frieder Bernius, Jos van Veldhoven and in summer 2019 at the master class singing (“Belcanto Nuovo 2019”) from Markus Krause. Since the 2016/17 season there have been regular engagements as a guest in the choir of the Lande
