Bio: German mezzo-soprano Silvia Hauer won first prize at the „Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin" in 2010. In the Season 2010/11 she debuted in a new production of "Rusalka" at the Komische Oper Berlin (Third Wood Spirit). During 2011–13, Silvia was a member of the Young Artist Program at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, performing several roles on the main stage including Annina ("La Traviata"), Kate Pinkerton ("Madama Butterfly") and Sandman ("Hänsel und Gretel"). During her time in Munich, she worked with a range of conductors, including Kent Nagano, Asher Fisch, Manilio Benzi, Dan Ettinger, Constantin Trinks, Henrik Nánási and Paolo Carignani. In the season 2013/14, Silvia continued her association with the Bavarian State Opera, as a guest in the world premiere of Jörg Widmann´s opera "Babylon" and in" Rusalka" at the Komische Oper Berlin. She has also been invited to perform at the festival "Heidelberger Frühling" and the Mozart academy at "Festival d´Aix-en-Provence". In April 2014, she was member of the Britten Pears Young Artist Program in Aldeburgh. In the season 2014/15 she was performing in Mozart´s "Betulia Liberata" (Carmi)at "Potsdamer Winteroper" as well as in a new production of "Le Nozze di Figaro" (Cherubino) and "Carmen" (Mercedes) in Bremen. From the season 2015/16 on, Silvia Hauer is a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Wiesbaden (Germany). She is going to do her debuts in roles like Dorabella ("Così fan tutte"), Bradamante ("Alcina"), Warwara ("Katja Kabanowa") and Hänsel ("Hänsel und Gretel"). Silvia Hauer maintains a busy schedule of concerts and recitals, and has been a guest at the Rheingau Musik Festival, La Scala, the Lucerne Festival, the Menuhin Festival, and at the Konzerthaus Berlin. Oratorio engagements include Bach´s "St. Matthew Passion" and "Christmas Oratorio", Mozart´s "Requiem", Rossini´s "Stabat Mater" and Händels "Messiah". Silvia Hauer was born in Kehl am Rhein, Germany. She was a junior student at Musikhochschule Karlsruhe, Germany and continued her studies in Freiburg, Germany and Vienna, Austria. She got several scholarships and participated masterclasses of Susanna Eken, Brigitte Fassbaender, Margreet Honig, René Jacobs, Edith Wiens, Klesie Kelly, Ioan Holender und Wolfram Rieger und Thomas Quasthoff.
