Bio: Stefano Simone Pintor is an award-winning author, director, musician and multimedia artist.
After several years of musical training as guitarist, he graduated cum laude in Theory and History of Theatre at the University of Turin and in Stage directing at the Academy of Dramatic Arts Paolo Grassi in Milan. He started his artistic path by working as assistant director for various opera houses such as the Teatro alla Scala of Milan, the Opera of Rome, the Bolshoi in Moscow, the NCPA in Beijing and the Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, and shadowing many renown directors such as Graham Vick and Robert Carsen.
As stage director and author, he won several prizes such as the European Opera Directing Prize, the Nano Opera of Moscow, La Biennale Music of Venice, the Fabbrica Young Artist Program at the Opera of Rome, the Opera Oggi International Contest and others, thanks to which he could establish himself as one of the most promising European artists.
So far, Stefano has written the libretto and curated the stage direction of about 15 opera shows and theatre plays for important theatres and opera houses both in Italy and abroad, always earning the interest of the international press review and gaining a large success of audience.
Among his numerous side projects, in 2015, Stefano launched The Social Opera House, an artistic experiment dedicated to new form of interactive musical theatre, within which he produced “The Banker”, the first web opera series ever made, whose pilot episode was awarded as Best Musical at the Web Series Festival Global in Hollywood.
His works are published by Ricordi, Sconfinarte, Ananke and others.
