Biography
Tabatha McFadyen is a director, performer and writer born in Dubbo and based in Berlin. She made her directorial debut with Hamlet in the Brisbane Shakespeare Festival in 2019, and since November 2021 has been engaged at the Staatsoper Berlin as an assistant and revival director. She has worked alongside directors such as Claus Guth, Calixto Bieito, Peter Sellars, Barrie Kosky, Constantine Costi, Tomo Sugao and Caroline Staunton and conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Massimo Zanetti, Nicola Luisotti, Axel Kober and Matthias Pintscher. As part of her ongoing collaboration with Lydia Steier, she was active as assistant director/choreographer for Die Frau ohne Schatten (Festspielhaus Baden Baden/Berliner Philharmoniker) and Candide (MusikTheater an der Wien) – which was awarded the Operette
