Biografie: Born in Jerusalem, Talia Or grew up in Germany and finished her studies at University of Music and Theatre Hamburg with honour. During her study she already gave her debut at State Opera Hamburg. After her studies she directly became member of the Opera Studio of the Bavarian State Opera Munich. She was member of the ensemble of State Theatre at Gärtnerplatz Munich and sung light lyric repertoire, Adele/DIE FLEDERMAUS, Rosina/IL BARBIÈRE DI SIVIGLIA, Pamina/THE MAGIC FLUTE, Valencienne/THE MERRY WIDOW and Lauretta/GIANNI SCHICCHI. At the same time she was guest at Bavarian State Opera and interpreted Voce del Cielo/DON CARLO, Lʼamour/ORPHÉE ET EURYDICE, as well as Junges Mädchen/MOSES AND ARON and Humperdinck’s CHILD/THE KINGS’S CHILDREN, which was celebrated in the media. During her career, Talia Or already worked with famous conductors such as Zubin Mehta, Gianandrea Noseda, Kirill Petrenko, Betrand de Billy, Lorin Maazel, Fabio Luisi or Ingo Metzmacher and Marc Albrecht. Furthermore she was a guest at important opera houses: La Scala Milan, Bavarian State Opera Munich, Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro dell Maggio Musicale Florence, Palau de les Arts Valencia, State Opera Hamburg, Theatre La Monnaie Brussels . Important steps in her operatic career include, amongst others, ÜBER FRAUEN ÜBER GRENZEN, a world premiere during Biennale Arts Festival Munich, staged by Stefan Herheim. She sang Elisabeth Zimmer in Henze‘s ELEGIE FÜR JUNGE LIEBENDE in Bilbao as well as PARSIFAL under the baton of Lorin Maazel at Palau de les Artes Valencia. Furthermore she was seen in DIE PASSAGIERIN at Bregenz Festival and as Despina/COSÌ FAN TUTTE at State Opera Hamburg. Talia debuted as Marzelline/FIDELIO at Teatro Regio Turin under Gianandrea Noseda . Sonn after had great success as Rosalinde/DIE FLEDERMAUS under Leo Hussain at State Theatre Salzburg, as Frau Fluth/DIE LUSTIGEN WEIBER VON WINDSOR at Festival Klosterneuburg and as Pamina/THE MAGIC FLUTE at Teatro Lirico Cagliari. In the past seasons Talia gave as Tatjana/EUGEN ONEGIN her debut at Teatro di Sao Paulo in Brazil. In the season 2015/16 she returned, amongst others, as Gretel/HÄNSEL UND GRETEL to Theatre La Monnaie in Brussels. Furthermore she gave her role debut as Eva/IL PRIMO OMICIDIO (A.Scarlatti) with The Potsdamer Kammerakademie directed by Andrea Moses and moved to a full lyric Fach with Janacek´s The excursions of Mr.Broucek. Last season she gave her debut as Nedda/I Pagliacci and Sylvia Varescu in Bolzano. Highlights of her various concert appearance include Mahler’s 2. Symphony under the baton of Zubin Mehta with Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Bernsteins MASS under Ingo Metzmacher and Hamburg Philharmonics, Bach‘s CHRISTMAS ORATORIO under Peter Schreier and Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Orchestra, as well as under Ivor Bolton with the Bavarian State Orchestra. Her wide-ranging concert repertoire includes Barock music and Haydn as well as Mozart, Offenbach, Schönberg, Richard Strauss and contemporary composers as Fabio Vacchi and brought her to famous concert stages as OSESP São Paolo, Tel Aviv Philharmonic, Festspielhaus Salzburg, Hamburg Music Hall and Gasteig Munich.The discography of Talia is growing constantly and includes amongst others Bach CANTATAS under the baton of Zubin Mehta and Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, recordings of SISARA and L’ARMONIA, two CD’s dedicated to the work of Simon Mayr.
