Thomas Guggeis

Thomas Guggeis created an international stir in March 2018 when he was tapped to take over a highly acclaimed new production of Salome from Christoph von Dohnányi at the Staatsoper Berlin. He received again positive feedback in March 2019 for his stepping in for the canceled concerts by Paavo Järvi with the Staatskapelle Berlin with Sibelius´ Symphony N°2. Since the beginning of the 2018/19 season, the young conductor has been the First Kapellmeister of the Staatsoper Stuttgart, where he conducted, amongst others, pieces such as La Bohème, Il barbiere di Siviglia, Madama Butterfly, Der Prinz von Homburg and Der Freischütz.
