Bio: Vasilisa Berzhanskaya
From 2015 to 2017, she was a member of the Youth Opera Program at the Bolshoi Theater of Russia, where she worked under the guidance of Professor Dmitry Vdovin.
In the summer of 2016, Vasilisa took part in the Rossini Opera Academy in Pesaro, under the direction of Alberto Zedda.
One year later, in 2017, she was a member of the Salzburg Festival’s Young Artists Program.
Also in 2017, Vasilisa became a member of the ensemble at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she remained until 2019.

Vasilisa has worked with a number of conductors such as Giampaolo Bisanti, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Daniele Gatti, Mariss Jansons, Dmitri Jurowski, Vladimir Jurowski, Andrea Marcon, Enrique Mazzola, Stefano Montanari, Donald Runnicles, Giacomo Sagripanti, Alexander Vedernikov and many others.
Vasilisa is a laureate of the Elena Obraztsova International Competition of Chamber Music (St. Petersburg, 2014, 2nd prize and Special Prize for best performance of 20th century composers’ music), as well as 2nd prize of the Grand Opera television contest at the Culture TV channel (2014). In 2016, Vasilisa was awarded the Grand prix Prize at the 4th Muslim Magomaev International Vocalists’ Competition in Moscow. In 2018, she won the First Prize and the Audience prize Award at the Debut Classical Singing Competition in Germany. Also, in 2018, she won the third prize and Audience prize Award at the Viotti Singing Competition in Italy.
Recently, she has been nominated for “The International Opera Awards 2020” as the best young singer of the year.
Vasilisa Berzhanskaya graduated of the Russian Gnesin Academy of Music in Moscow, where she studied under the guidance of Professor Ruzanna Lisitsian.
