Chancelor Barbaree

American lyric baritone, Chancelor Barbaree, was born in Guymon, OK, but spent much of his adolescence in Amarillo, TX. Here, he received his associate degree in Music from Amarillo College under the vocal teachings of internationally acclaimed soprano, Mary Jane Johnson. Chancelor completed his Bachelor of Musical Arts in Voice with a minor in Business from the University of Oklahoma. Chancelor received his first taste of opera in the chorus of Amarillo Opera where he performed in Lucia di Lammermoor, Le Nozze di Figaro, The Ballad of Baby Doe, and La Traviata. Here, Chancelor perfected his first solo operatic role of Frederick in Joshua's Boots. He has gone on to perform in other roles such as Friar Unulfo in Rodelinda and Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos with the Trentino Music Festival in
