For the Republic of Moldova, as for the vast majority of European states, the Opera and Ballet Theater represents a higher level awareness of the spiritual valorization of the national essence of the people. In favor of this statement, we invoke the historical factor of value verification and validity of artistic phenomena, since 2007 marked the 50th anniversary of the institutionalization of the National Opera in Chisinau.

 

 

This first-rate institution of national culture represents a symbol of high civic responsibility towards the national tradition. The need for the existence of this important cultural institution was attested from the beginning of the century, but until 1957 the Lyric Theater of Moldova was a corporate institution, adjacent to various forms of theater production. Thus, until 1957, the version of the operatic theater of Moldova was cumulative with the dramatic theater, being a single body - the State Musical-Dramatic Theater "AS Puşkin". On July 5, 1957, the Minister of Culture of the SSR Artiom Lazarev signs the order establishing the Moldavian State Theater of Opera and Ballet "AS Puşkin", an epoch-making document for the further development of this institution of our national culture.
