Born from a community of immigrants and coffee merchants, shipyard workers and students, San Francisco Opera was founded in 1923 with a mission to bring the power of live performance to the Bay Area and beyond, through world-class opera.
Now, in our 2022–23 season, we embark on a new century of art, innovation, and creativity. Welcome to San Francisco Opera's centennial season, a bold lineup of concerts, operas and community events that presents stories old and new, as we continue to pioneer the art form into the future.
