Biography
Tijuana-born mezzosoprano Guadalupe Paz was a member of a children’s choir committed to the revival of sacred repertoire at the early age of 6 years old. Since then, music and singing marked her life. In 2009 she graduated from the Conservatorio Arrigo Pedrollo in Vicenza, Italy and since her professional debut in 2008, Paz has been an active performer for the National Opera Company of Bellas Artes in Mexico City. Recent engagements include her debut at the Mainly Mozart Festival in San Diego as well as singing the role of Mercedes in Bizet’s Carmen for the San Diego Opera Company. Other operatic roles in her repertoire include the leading role of Montezuma in Montezuma by Carl H. Graun, Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Isabella in La Italiana in Algeri, Marchesa Melibea in Il Viaggio a Reim
