Born in Upper Austria, the former St. Florian Boys' Choir received his vocal training at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Helena Lazarska and Robert Holl. His varied artistic career took him to the Volksoper Wien, the Theater an der Wien, the New National Theater Tokyo, the Grand Theater Luxembourg, the opera houses of Dijon, Limoges and Caen, the Chemnitz Opera and the Leipzig Opera the Neue Oper Wien and the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he was heard in various major roles in his field (including Onegin, Papageno, Don Giovanni, Belcore, Silvio, Marcello, Count Almaviva, Harlequin, Falke, Donner, Escamillo).
