In his »Images« Debussy very skilfully creates local colouring, which is again veiled, as it were, by rhythmic, metrical and polyphonic complexity. Bernhard Sekles plays wittily with character images and summarizes 15 miniatures, whose brevity and conciseness are paired with a sometimes impressionistic sense of sound. In his 7 chamber music pieces, Sekles' famous student Hindemith adopts the principle of reduction in a different way and translates the idea of ​​the baroque concerto into a contemporary tonal language.

Debussy lässt in seinen »Images« (Bilder) äußerst kunstvoll lokales Kolorit entstehen, das durch rhythmische, metrische und polyphone Komplexität gleichsam wieder verschleiert wird. Bernhard Sekles spielt gewitzt mit Charakterbildern und fasst gleich 15 Miniaturen zusammen, deren Kürze und Prägnanz sich mit einem bisweilen impressionistischen Klangsinn paaren. Sekles’ berühmter Schüler Hindemith macht sich in seinen 7 Kammermusiken das Prinzip der Reduktion auf andere Art zu eigen und überführt die Idee des barocken Concerto in die zeitgenössische Klangsprache.
