Guest conductor Dawid Runtz, chief conductor of the Zagreb Philharmonic, has put together a purely Polish program for Oldenburg. The Concert Overture op. 12 is one of Karol Szymanowski's early works, which was influenced by romanticism, and was created with the ambition to create modern Polish music with a European dimension.

A "Polish 'Romeo and Juliet'" – this is how Mieczysław Karłowicz called Stanisław Bergmann's painting 'Stanisław Oświeçim at the Grave of Anna', which moved him deeply. Inspired by this picture, he composed a symphonic poem that puts the topos of “unhappy love” into music. The highlight of the concert is Henryk Górecki's 'Symphony of Lamentations', in which he sets to music a Lamentation from the Virgin Mary found on a cell wall at Gestapo headquarters in Zakopane and a folk song from the time of the Polish uprisings. A melancholic and intense music, sung by the German-Polish member of the opera ensemble Bogna Bernagiewicz.

Ein rein polnisches Programm hat Gastdirigent Dawid Runtz, Chefdirigent der Zagreber Philharmonie, für Oldenburg zusammengestellt. Die Konzertouvertüre op. 12 zählt zu Karol Szymanowskis romantisch geprägtem Frühwerk und entstand in der Ambition, eine moderne polnische Musik von europäischer Dimension zu erschaffen.

Ein „polnisches ‚Romeo und Julia‘“ – so betitelte Mieczysław Karłowicz das Gemälde ‚Stanisław Oświeçim am Grab von Anna‘ von Stanisław Bergmann, das ihn tief bewegte. Inspiriert von diesem Bild komponierte er eine Sinfonische Dichtung, die den Topos der „unglücklichen Liebe“ in Töne fasst. Höhepunkt des Konzertes ist Henryk Góreckis ‚Sinfonie der Klagelieder‘, in der er eine Marienklage, die an einer Zellenwand im Gestapo-Hauptquartier in Zakopane gefunden wurde, und ein Volkslied aus der Zeit der polnischen Aufstände vertont. Eine melancholische und intensive Musik, gesungen vom deutsch-polnischen Mitglied des Opernensembles Martyna Cymerman.
