Ob in Beethovens Fünfter mit dem prägnanten Klopfmotiv »das Schicksal an die Pforte« klopfte, darf heute getrost bezweifelt werden. Geheimnisvoll sind die Verwandlungen der vier magischen Noten ohnehin. Ein echter Klassiker der Klassikwelt!

Chefdirigent Sylvain Cambreling präsentiert neben diesem unverwüstlichen (und immer noch überzeugenden) Evergreen zudem zwei Werke aus dem europäischen Süden: Der zeitgenössische italienische Komponist Francesco Filidei ist einer der bemerkenswertesten aktuellen Vertreter seiner Zunft, während der »Liebeszauber« des Spaniers Manuel de Falla bereits seit mehr als 100 Jahren für iberische musikalische Verzauberung sorgt. Die Mezzosopranistin Catriona Morison, die hier unüberhörbar beteiligt ist, ist übrigens auch – ebenso überzeugend – auf der Symphoniker-CD »Folk Songs« zu erleben

Whether in Beethoven's Fifth with the concise knocking motif "fate knocked at the gate" can be doubted today. The transformations of the four magical notes are mysterious anyway. A true classic of the classical world!
In addition to this indestructible (and still convincing) evergreen, chief conductor Sylvain Cambreling also presents two works from southern Europe: the contemporary Italian composer Francesco Filidei is one of the most notable current representatives of his guild, while the Spaniard Manuel de Falla's »Love Magic« has been around for more than a decade has been providing Iberian musical enchantment for more than 100 years. Incidentally, the mezzo-soprano Catriona Morison, who is unmistakably involved here, can also be heard – just as convincingly – on the symphonic CD »Folk Songs«.
