8th Symphony Concert: Concert Various

Manfred Honeck returns to the Staatskapelle podium with a special programme. The focus is on Mozart's famous Requiem, other highlights of his sacred work and the »Maureric Funeral Music«, which the Freemason Mozart composed in 1785 to commemorate two lodge brothers, complete the unfinished main sacred work of the Viennese. Manfred Honeck creates a literary-musical resonance space around these works: Ulrich Tukur reads from poems by the Nobel Prize winner Nelly Sachs, while Gregorian chants refer to the long tradition of religious vocal music.
