Wolfgang Amadé Mozart's early symphonies, written for and in Milan as a boy, still follow the Italian "Sinfonia", the three-part form of the opera overture, which was becoming more and more independent in the concert hall at the time. So what could be more obvious than to garnish Mozart's youthful and imaginative pieces with selected examples from Italy during this exciting time of the development of new forms and content? Carlo Monza, Cathedral Kapellmeister in Milan, also created more than twenty operas and a sea storm sinfonia discovered by Maestro Fabio Biondi, in which not only the force of nature but also the storm and stress simmers. Monza's teacher was Sammartini, who was highly valued by everyone and also by Mozart, and was a key driving force behind early classical music. Angelo Maria Scaccia was an innovative violin virtuoso of the late Baroque period and little is known about Antonio Brioschi other than that his music was very popular. Like his colleagues, he understood a great deal about spirit, wit and melody.

Wolfgang Amadé Mozarts frühe, noch im Knabenalter für und in Mailand geschriebene Symphonien folgen noch ganz der italienischen „Sinfonia“, der dreiteiligen Form der Opernouvertüre, die sich damals immer mehr im Konzertsaal verselbständigte. Was liegt also näher, als Mozarts jugendfrische und einfallsreiche Stücke mit ausgewählten Beispielen aus dem Italien dieser spannenden Zeit der Entwicklung neuer Formen und Inhalte zu garnieren? Carlo Monza, Domkapellmeister in Mailand, schuf auch mehr als zwanzig Opern und eine von Maestro Fabio Biondi entdeckte Meeresstürme-Sinfonia, in der nicht nur die Naturgewalt, sondern auch schon die Sturm- und Drangzeit brodelt. Monzas Lehrer war der allseits und auch von Mozart sehr geschätzte Sammartini, ein wesentlicher Impulsgeber der frühen Klassik. Angelo Maria Scaccia war ein innovativer Violinvirtuose des späten Barock und über Antonio Brioschi weiß man nicht viel mehr, als dass seine Musik sehr beliebt war. Wie seine Kollegen verstand auch er viel von Geist, Witz und Melodie.
