Antonello Manacorda is at home in the great opera houses. As chief conductor of the Kammerakademie Potsdam, he has also made award-winning recordings, including the complete Schubert symphonies. Rarely has this music sounded “leaner, more logical, more exhilarating”, Der Spiegel wrote. For his debut with the Philharmoniker, Manacorda had programmed Schubert’s “Unfinished”. A further highlight is Mahler’s Rückert-Lieder, with baritone Christian Gerhaher.

Whether Vienna, New York or Paris: Antonello Manacorda is at home in the big opera houses. As chief conductor of the Potsdam Chamber Academy, he has presented award-winning recordings, including all of Schubert's symphonies. Der Spiegel found that his music “rarely sounded leaner, more logical, more exhilarating” . So it is only natural that Manacorda also put a Schubert symphony on the program for his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic: the "Unfinished" symphony, which is as melodious as it is ambiguous. Another highlight: Mahler's Rückert songs with baritone Christian Gerhaher.
