With almost 7,500 concerts in over 500 cities and 63 countries, we as the Bavarian State Philharmonic Orchestra have become a cultural ambassador for Bavaria and the whole of Germany and regularly tour, for example, the USA, South America and Asia. Our guest performances there in particular have a long tradition: the first trip to Hong Kong took place as early as 1982, followed by a tour in 1990 to Taiwan and to Korea in 2016. The orchestra has already travelled to China six times and in Japan we have played a total of we have played a total of 125 concerts on 15 tours. Mit fast 7 500 Konzerten in über 500 Städten und 63 Ländern sind wir als Bayerische Staatsphilharmonie zum Kulturbotschafter Bayerns und ganz Deutschlands geworden und regelmäßig auf Tourneen z. B. in den USA, in Südamerika und Asien unterwegs. Insbesondere dort haben unsere Gastspiele eine lange Tradition: Die erste Reise nach Hongkong fand bereits 1982 statt, gefolgt von einer Tour 1990 nach Taiwan und 2016 nach Korea. Nach China reiste das Orchester bereits sechs Mal und in Japan spielten wir auf 15 Tourneen insgesamt 125 Konzerte. Dieses Jahr geht es erneut nach Hongkong, Taipei, Kaohsiung und Seoul, und zwar mit Werken aus unserem Kernrepertoire. Gerade als Reiseorchester ist es uns jedoch ein Herzensanliegen, die Umweltbelastung, die durch unsere Tourneen und Gastspiele entsteht, so gering wie möglich zu halten. Deswegen spielen wir zukünftig mehr Residenzen und vermeiden das »Springen« von Stadt zu Stadt. In Taiwan und in Korea werden wir dieses Mal ein paar Tage länger bleiben, um vor Ort Education-Projekte und Familien- bzw. Schulkonzerte zu spielen. Unseren CO₂-Fußabdruck wollen wir mit Klimaschutzprojekten kompensieren, die vor Ort wirken und einen positiven Nebeneffekt auf Gesellschaft und Umwelt haben, statt einfach nur Geld an Unternehmen zur Klimakompensation zu überweisen. Unsere Asien-Tournee 2023 ist dahingehend der erste Versuch auf außereuropäischer Ebene.
