The operetta in three acts on Leo Stein's libretto was the best and most famous work of an Austro-Hungarian composer. The immortal operetta not only owes its success to the breathtaking music, but also to the humorous libretto. The young Viennese prince Edwin falls in love with the star of the Budapest cabaret. Sylva, however, goes on tour in the United States and Edwin receives a summons. In order not to lose his love, Edwin decides to ask her for a year. At this moment, the vicissitudes and sudden reversals in human destinies, typical of Kalman's works, begin.
