The name "Carmen" today adorns the posters of all the leading opera houses. For the Rostov Musical Theatre, Georges Bizet's opera is especially dear, because it was with its production in 1999 that the history of the Rostov State Musical Theatre, which confidently entered the Russian opera orbit, began. Music, full of life and light, glorifying the freedom of the human person, melodic and colorful, quickly won the hearts of listeners. The opera by G. Bizet is a story about the beautiful and freedom-loving gypsy Carmen, who changes the fate of people with her one word. In the production of the Rostov Musical, the life of a temperamental, motley crowd under the scorching Spanish sun will be embodied on stage.
