Join us at The Booth Tarkington Theater at The Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel on November 10-12, 2023 for Georges Bizet’s iconic opera Carmen. Led by Director Layna Chianakas and Maestro Alfred Savia, this spectacular must-see production features famous operatic arias that you are sure to recognize, like the "Habanera" and "Toreador Song.” Set in Spain, follows the beautiful and fiery and gypsy Carmen (Japanese-American Nina Nelson, Lyric Opera of Chicago Mezzo-soprano, in her role debut) who seduces handsome soldier Don José (Korean American Adam Diegel, Metropolitan Opera Tenor), who in turn abandons the military along with his sweetheart, Micaëla (world-renowned African American Kearstin Piper Brown, San Francisco Opera Soprano).  With fortune telling, bull fighting, and flamenco dancing, this passionate piece is filled with Spanish flavor and unforgettable moments!
