Spojení koncertantního díla Bély Bartóka a Carmina burana Carla Orffa není pro FOK novinka. V roce 2011 tuto kombinaci zvolili Pražští symfonikové pod taktovkou tehdejšího šéfdirigenta Jiřího Kouta. Místo koncertu pro dva klavíry a bicí jsme tentokrát vybrali sólové housle a Bartókův První koncert, který vznikl z velké lásky k houslistce Stefi Geyer. Láska to byla bohužel neopětovaná, Stefi Geyer koncert neodehrála, a nakonec se premiéra uskutečnila až po Bartókově smrti. S velkou vroucností přijede nyní koncert přednést věhlasný slovenský houslista Dalibor Karvay, který už zahrál i princi Charlesovi na hradě Windsor. Ke Carmina burana jakožto jedné z nejčastěji uváděných skladeb stačí snad jen dodat, že se můžeme těšit na skvělé obsazení včetně norského barytonisty Auduna Iversena. Krásný závěr sezóny!

The combination of Béla Bartók's concertante work and Carl Orff's Carmina burana is not new for FOK. In 2011, this combination was chosen by the Prague Symphony under the baton of the then chief conductor Jiří Kout. Instead of a concerto for two pianos and drums, this time we chose solo violins and Bartók's First Concerto , which was created out of a great love for the violinist Stefi Geyer. Unfortunately, the love was unrequited, Stefi Geyer did not play the concert, and finally the premiere took place only after Bartók's death. With great fervour, the famous Slovak violinist Dalibor Karvay, who has already played for Prince Charles at Windsor Castle, will now come to perform the concert. To Carmina buranaas one of the most frequently performed compositions, it is perhaps sufficient to add that we can look forward to a great cast, including the Norwegian baritone Audun Iversen. A beautiful end to the season!
