Composed in 1810 by Nicolas Isouard, this “fairy-opera in three acts” is reborn today from its ashes. Because it is indeed Cinderella, in a version cut for the comic opera of the nascent 19th century by a composer in love with Italy. The two wicked sisters compose an unforgettable pair of diggers, the prince is advised by an enlightened mage, and he will end up, it is promised, by finding the shoe that suits him.
