• Enjoy an excerpt from the "Message to the People" duet from CHARLIE PARKER'S YARDBIRD. This lively tenor-baritone duet between saxophonist Charlie Parker (Joshua Stewart, making his Seattle Opera debut) and trumpeter Dizzy Gillespie (Jorell Williams, last seen here in THE FALLING AND THE RISING) dramatizes the beginning of their collaboration and the new sound of Bebop. (Be sure to watch until the end!)  CHARLIE PARKER'S YARDBIRD plays February 22 through March 7 at McCaw Hall.  Joshua Stewart is scheduled to appear Feb. 22, 26, Mar. 1 and 6.
