For over six hundred years, the choir of the Moscow Sretensky Monastery has been preserving the traditions of Russian spiritual singing culture.

The main task for the oldest choral group in the country is participation in liturgical life. After the God-fighting hard times and during the years of the new “Russian timelessness” of the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries, the revived choir expanded its mission, going beyond the church fence in order to convey the best that is in the national (spiritual, classical, folk, song) choral heritage to the maximum a large number of people not only in Russia, but throughout the world.

Symbolizing conciliarity and unity, embodying the ideas of professional excellence, the choir of the Sretensky Monastery has become one of the most famous and world-recognized symbols of Russian spiritual and singing culture of our time.
