This year, the jubilee festival - the twentieth Vilnius festival - is being held. So his opening concert is undoubtedly a significant musical event. Today's brightest and most talented soloist, opera superstar Angela Gheorghiu, who is often called one of the most beautiful women on the theater stage, will sing for the first time in Lithuania. The celebrity from Romania debuted in 1990. In the role of Mimi in G. Puccini's opera "Boheme". Later, her impressive career spanned the world's opera sanctuaries and the most important concert halls - A. Gheorghiu's star shone brightly on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal Opera House "Covent Garden" in London, the Staatsoper in Vienna, La Scala in Milan. The soloist had to sing in Paris, Berlin, Rome, Tokyo, Chicago, Los Angeles, and many other European and American cities.

Romanian tenor Marius Brenciu, whose debut on the opera stage took place in 1997, will sing together with A. Gheorghiu. in Bucharest. Winner of many international competitions, such as Julien Gaillard, Queen Elizabeth in Brussels, Auditorium in New York, 2001. he became the first Romanian soloist to win the BBC's Cardiff Singer of the World competition. Currently, M. Brenciu sings on the stage of the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Royal "Covent Garden" in London, the "Staatsoper" in Vienna, opera houses in Berlin, Brussels, Paris, Lyon, Munich, Lisbon, Geneva, Florence, Rome, Tel Aviv and many others.

Šiais metais rengiamas jubiliejinis – jau dvidešimtasis Vilniaus festivalis. Tad jo atidarymo koncertas – neabejotinai reikšmingas muzikinis įvykis. Lietuvoje pirmą kartą dainuos ryškiausia ir talentingiausia šių dienų solistė, operos superžvaigždė Angela Gheorghiu, neretai vadinama ir viena gražiausių teatro scenoje kuriančių moterų. Iš Rumunijos kilusi garsenybė debiutavo 1990 m. Mimi vaidmeniu G. Puccini operoje „Bohema“. Vėliau jos įspūdinga karjera nusidriekė per pasaulio operos šventoves ir svarbiausias koncertų sales – A. Gheorghiu žvaigždė ryškiai žibėjo Metropolitano operos scenoje Niujorke, Karališkajame operos teatre „Covent Garden“ Londone, Vienos „Staatsoper“, Milano „La Scaloje“. Solistei teko dainuoti Paryžiuje, Berlyne, Romoje, Tokijyje, Čikagoje, Los Andžele, daugybėje kitų Europos ir JAV miestų.

Kartu su A. Gheorghiu dainuos Rumunijos tenoras Marius Brenciu, kurio debiutas operos scenoje įvyko 1997 m. Bukarešte. Pelnęs daugelio tarptautinių konkursų, kaip antai Julieno Gaillardo, Karalienės Elžbietos Briuselyje, „Auditorium“ Niujorke, laurus, 2001 m. jis tapo pirmuoju rumunų solistu, laimėjusiu BBC „Cardiff Singer of the World“ konkursą. Šiuo metu M.
