Miloš Šobajić
A painter and a poet Dragoljub Firulović – Firul (1956) lives and works in Negotin at the Firul atelier. He was learning painting at the Summer Academy of Fine Arts Pena, led by its founder, renowned master of painting Radislav Trkulja, with the participation of other distinguished painters, professors of our art academies, for eight years. As a poet and member of the Association of Writers of Serbia, he published four collections of poetry: Dying of the Water, Me, Galleries or Rhyming in Painting, Hunting for Stones and Son of Angels, as well as the memorial edition We are Astafir. Books Me, Galleries or Rhyming in Painting, and Son of Angels are also published in Romanian language. He is one of the founders of the Artistic Association Krajina’s circle, where he is a current president, as well as the Associations of painters Negotin. He is the initiator of the Art-Ecological Association Stone Hunters. So far he has exhibited 20 times independently and at several group exhibitions in the country and abroad. He is a participant of a large number of art colonies in Serbia and abroad, and his paintings are found in collections of numerous collectors.
He also deals with music. With the trumpeter Mile Paunović, he recorded a compact disc called Sun from the East (PGP RTS) in 2009 inspired by the original motifs of the Negotin and Timok’s region. He often performs with pianist Bojan Čukić singing folk songs in original jazz arrangements.
He is awarded with prestigious awards, including the Award of Ivo Andrić Academy, May Award of the city of Negotin, International Prize Nikita Stanescu (Romania), etc.
