„Vilniaus festivalio mozaikos“ pabaigos koncerte skambantis didingas kūrinys „Daina apie žemę“ suteikė motto visam šių metų festivaliui: Žemės, kaip žmonių planetos, likimas šiandien ypač aktualus. Gustavo Mahlerio simfonija-kantata „Daina apie žemę“, dar vadinama Devintąja simfonija, – tai 1909 m. sukurta epopėja, prakalba visai žmonijai. Daina yra tapusi Mahlerio simfonijų siela ir nervu, o šiame kūrinyje dainos įsiliejimas į simfoniją pasiekia kulminaciją. „Dainoje apie žemę“ panaudoti vokiečių poeto Hanso Bethge’s tekstai iš rinkinio „Kiniška fleita“. Įkvėptas senovinių, net egzotiškų kinų poetų eilėraščių Mahleris sukūrė vieną išraiškingiausių pasaulio muzikos literatūros partitūrų.

Scenoje muzikuoja iškilūs Lietuvos muzikai – Lietuvos nacionalinis simfoninis orkestras, pasaulinį pripažinimą pelnę solistai Justina Gringytė, Kristianas Benediktas ir Nacionalinės premijos laureatas dirigentas Modestas Pitrėnas.

The majestic piece "Song of the Earth" played at the end of the "Vilnius Festival Mosaic" concert provided the  motto  for the entire festival this year: the fate of the Earth as a human planet is especially relevant today. Gustav Mahler's symphony-cantata "Song of the Earth", also called the Ninth Symphony, is a 1909. created an epic that speaks to all of humanity. The song has become the soul and nerve of Mahler's symphonies, and in this work the integration of the song into the symphony reaches its climax. "Song about the Earth" uses the texts of the German poet Hans Bethge from the collection "Chinese Flute". Inspired by the ancient, even exotic poems of Chinese poets, Mahler created one of the most expressive musical scores in the world.

Prominent Lithuanian musicians perform on the stage - the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra, world-renowned soloists Justina Gringytė, Kristianas Benediktas and National Prize laureate conductor Modestas Pitrėnas.
