Gretchen, the fisherman's daughter, is very clever. She even knows how to visit someone in very unusual ways: no driving, no running, no clothes and no naked, no shoes and no barefoot, with or without a gift. Nobody imitates that so quickly. It's a good thing the king likes smart women. They fall in love and Gretchen becomes queen - at least for a while. Because the king is a very proud king and trouble is inevitable! But Gretchen does not let herself get down and in the end beats her loved one with his own means. The children's opera by Martin Smolka from 2006 surprises small and large audiences with original and unusual sounds and is performed by Andrea Kramer.
