Carl Zeller is one of those wonderful part-time artists - at that time they were called dilettantes - as they were known in large numbers in the 19th century. The son of a doctor, former choir boy of the imperial court orchestra and doctorate Dr. legal stands in a row with names like Franz Schubert, Friedrich Schiller, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe or Franz Kafka. The Education Ministry Councilor composed throughout his life and created six full-length stage works that are in no way inferior to the classic operettas by Karl Millöcker, Franz von Suppé and Johann Strauss. In the summer of 2015, Carl Zeller played the bird dealer. The fairytale production by Melanie Gehrig was very well received by the audience and attracted more than 10,000 spectators to Burgäschi for the first time.
