Beautiful, captivating and passionate performance. On November 17, 1915, another finest hour of the composer struck: the triumphal premiere of "Princess Czardas" took place in Vienna. The main character is a woman who can love recklessly, but also make mistakes in love; sometimes eccentric and capricious, but pure and uncompromising.

Here is what the newspapers wrote the day after the premiere: “Kalman always has one foot on the Hungarian scale, the other on the dance floor, from which the Viennese waltz grows. This time the music was especially successful for him - beautiful and elegant, sensitive and fiery .

The operetta marched through the fronts of the world war: a triumph in Berlin, a year later - in Budapest, then - Sweden, Finland. In Russia, the work of Imre Kalman was simply called "Silva". To date, this is undoubtedly the No. 1 operetta of all times and peoples, and the love melodies of Silva and Edwin have long been living outside the theater.
