"The Merry Widow" is considered the best creation of Franz Lehár. “Although it has been written now, it is also brilliant ... A magnificent thing,” Sergei Rachmaninov once assessed this work. Bringing worldwide fame to the Austro-Hungarian composer, the operetta was translated into ten languages ​​and filmed several times.

At the Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre, The Merry Widow is staged by Alexander Lebedev (St. Petersburg), diploma winner of the Golden Mask National Theater Festival.

“The world of our performance is modern in spirit, but at the same time it echoes the aesthetic realities in which this story could well develop. The audience is waiting for a cheerful, cheerful, recognizable and sometimes naive fairy tale for adults, ” said the director.

The original scenery was created by the Honored Artist of Ukraine Sergey Spevyakin (Donetsk).

Bright and memorable costumes were designed by the Honored Artist of the Khabarovsk Territory, a member of the Union of Artists of Russia Natalia Syzdykova (Khabarovsk).

Dance numbers were staged by the laureate of all-Russian and international competitions of choreographers Lyudmila Tsvetkova (Irkutsk).

The lighting solution was proposed by Boris Mikhailov (Rostov-on-Don), laureate of the Rostov branch of the Melpomena STD.
