Devilishly beautiful romantic songs and opera arias about Faust by Franz Schubert, Charles Gounod and Hector Berlioz.

No work has captured the imagination of writers, directors, choreographers, filmmakers and artists of all kinds more than the monumental tragedy Faust by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Szenen aus Faust by Robert Schumann is featured on the opera poster. In this concert, Schumann is joined by other greats who, in opera and song, have brought the drama of the tormented, dissatisfied scientist into the limelight.

A new batch of students from the International Opera Academy introduce themselves in a semi-scenic concert featuring highlights from the rich Faust literature.

No work has fired artists’ imagination more than Faust , the monumental tragedy by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Writers, directors, choreographers, film makers and other artists were all inspired, as was Robert Schumann, whose Szenen aus Faust heads this opera programme. In the concert, Schumann is joined by other masters of opera and song who illustrated the drama of the vexed, dissatisfied scientist.
