1787: Two years after "Le nozze di Figaro", two years before the outbreak of the French Revolution, a man entered the stage and since then there has been high pressure - emotional, psychological and musical! Because... 1470! Women - at least that's what his biggest fan Leporello boasts and claims - were deeply desired and seduced by the greatest womanizer of all time. His ringing name: Don Giovanni. And he loves them all! His hustle and bustle directs him through all social classes, regardless of whether the lady of his choice already belongs to someone else. Even if one has small doubts about the total number of his conquests, the attraction of Don Giovanni to the female being is undisputed.

But what is his secret? is it power is it money Does he open a forbidden chamber to his lovers? We accompany the womanizer after his latest love affair, in which everything doesn't go according to plan, a dead person dies shortly after the opera begins, and a search begins that grips all the senses for the man who mischievously calls out to us: »Viva la libertà!«

In his second collaboration with the librettist Lorenzo Da Ponte, Mozart created a musical masterpiece that oscillates between the light, comical world of opera buffa and the abysmal world of the sensually demonic, taking listeners equally into passionate spheres.

1787: Zwei Jahre nach »Le nozze di Figaro«, zwei Jahre vor Ausbruch der Französischen Revolution betritt ein Mann die Bühne und seitdem herrscht Hochdruck – emotionaler, psychischer und musikalischer ! Denn … 1470! Frauen – so prahlt und behauptet zumindest sein größter Fan Leporello – wurden vom größten Womanizer aller Zeiten aufs Innigste begehrt und verführt. Sein klingender Name: Don Giovanni. Und: Er liebt sie alle! Sein buntes Treiben dirigiert ihn durch alle Gesellschaftsschichten, ungeachtet ob die Dame seiner Wahl bereits einem anderen angehört. Mag man auch an der Gesamtzahl seiner Eroberungen kleine Zweifel haben, so ist die Anziehung des Don Giovanni auf das weibliche Wesen unbestritten.

Doch was ist sein Geheimnis? Ist es Macht? Ist es Geld? Öffnet er seinen Geliebten eine verbotene Kammer? Wir begleiten den Frauenhelden nach seinem jüngsten Liebesabenteuer, bei dem nicht alles nach Plan läuft, es bereits kurz nach Beginn der Oper einen Toten gibt, und eine alle Sinne ergreifende Suche nach dem Mann beginnt, der uns verschmitzt entgegenruft: »Viva la libertà!«

In seiner zweiten Zusammenarbeit mit dem Librettisten Lorenzo Da Ponte gelang Mozart ein musikalisches Meisterwerk, das sich zwischen der leichten, komischen Welt der Opera buffa und der abgründigen Welt des sinnlich Dämonischen bewegt und Zuhörerinnen und Zuhörer gleichermaßen in leidenschaftliche Sphären entführt.ger
