Barne- og ungdomsoperaen ELOISE er feiende flott musikkdramatikk for den unge garde – komponert i 1997 av den verdenskjente komponisten Karl Jenkins, i et iørefallende musikkspråk med impulser fra jazz, musikal og klassisk tradisjon.

Denne blandingen av realisme og magi som er eventyrenes kjennetegn er det vi ønsker å gjenskape i operaen; en tilstand der naturlige begrensninger blir opphevet og hvor barn nettopp på grunn av magien gjerne blir betatt. Her blir urett rettet opp igjen, og håpet er at denne gjenopprettelsen blir sittende igjen i barnet som en styrket tro på og tillit til de gode kreftene.

The children's and youth opera ELOISE  is sweeping musical drama for the young generation - composed in 1997 by the world-renowned composer Karl Jenkins, in a catchy musical language with impulses from jazz, musical and classical tradition.

This mixture of realism and magic that is the hallmark of fairy tales is what we want to recreate in the opera; a state where natural limitations are lifted and where children are often captivated precisely because of the magic. Here injustice is rectified again, and the hope is that this restoration will remain in the child as a strengthened faith in and trust in the good forces.
