Der estnische Dirigent Paavo Järvi, derzeit Chefdirigent des Tonhalle-Orchesters in Zürich, hat sich 2011 einen Traum erfüllt und neben einem Festival in der Ostseestadt Pärnu auch  ein eigenes Orchester gegründet. Das Estonian Festival Orchestra vereint generationenübergreifend die besten Musikerinnen und Musiker seiner Heimat sowie führende Instrumentalistinnen und Instrumentalisten aus aller Welt. Einladungen in die wichtigsten Musikzentren beweisen, dass da ein ganz besonderer Klangkörper entstanden ist. In Grafenegg feiert das Orchester mit Beethovens Klavierkonzert Nr. 3 seinen Einstand, Rudolf Buchbinder übernimmt den Solopart. Nach der Pause bietet der Melodienreichtum von Tschaikowskis erster Symphonie den Musikerinnen und Musikern reichlich Gelegenheit, ihr außerordentliches Können auszuspielen.

The Estonian conductor Paavo Järvi, currently Chief Conductor of the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra, fulfilled a dream in 2011 when he founded both his own orchestra and festival in the city of Pärnu on the Baltic Sea. The Estonian Festival Orchestra brings together the best musicians from his homeland as well as leading instrumentalists from all over the world. Invitations to perform in the most important music venues testify to the specialness of the orchestra he has created. The orchestra celebrates its debut Grafenegg performance with Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 and soloist Rudolf Buchbinder. After the interval, the melodic richness of Tchaikovsky's First Symphony offers the musicians ample opportunity to show off their extraordinary skills.
