What if we could stop old age? What if sickness and death were no longer a factor and we remained powerful, attractive and desirable forever?

The ambitious scientist Dr. Faust found solutions for this. With numerous pharmaceutical remedies he has gained prestige and power. Now he is the head of a huge corporation that promises eternal youth and health. So far he hasn't found a solution for himself - until he sells his soul.

The young laboratory employee Margarethe is ambitious and wants to make a career for herself in the company at any price. Although she is still inexperienced, she knows what she wants - and she is by no means as naive as she first appears. Will the affair with the boss really bring her the career leap she had hoped for?

And then there's a third who drives a wedge between the two: Mephisto. He is also a scientist, but primarily pursues his own goals - and in the end they are neither good for Faust nor for Margarethe.


The opera loft version of Gounod's Faust focuses entirely on the three protagonists: Margarethe, Faust and Mephisto. Regardless of the losses, the three struggle for love, money and power. Will the devil win in the end?

Or is there a chance for humanity?

Gounod contrasts Goethe's well-known model with his intoxicatingly sensual composition. And Margarethe's fate at the center of the plot. Love and hope, desperation, madness and death ring out in Gounod's rousing music. Revel in the beautiful melodies and be enchanted by the late romantic sounds!
