"Faust" is one of the most complex, voluminous and unique performances in design and director's concept in the entire repertoire of the theater. On the Chelyabinsk stage, the famous opera by Charles Gounod received a modern interpretation.

The director leaves space for the viewer in the temporary perception of the plot. Throughout the performance, the characters will visit both the hell of the modern world and the space of absolute timelessness, devoid of the characteristic colors of a particular era.

The performance impresses with its multi-level scenography. On the stage - a building 14 meters wide and over 7 meters high with a floor, ceiling and walls. The most complex scenery is transformed either into a post-apocalyptic space, or into a market square, or into hell.

The opera "Faust" is a mystical and allegorical parable, in the center of which is the philosophical meaning of the plot and the bewitching music of Charles Gounod.

Vasileva's "Faust" inhabits a strange, bizarre space: it seems to be an ancient, Catholic church, with stone Gothic chimeras like the ones in Paris with Notre Dame, but it is obvious that its sacred function has long been lost ... The director manages to combine moderate actualization and the classic approach, which in the fact that, despite the extravagance, the originality of some decisions, the unexpectedness of certain moves, on the whole, Vasileva remains true to the intention of the authors of the opera. This is the same Faust by Goethe-Gounod, with its philosophical questions, with the opposition of good and evil, with its romance and mysticism.

«Фауст» – один из самых сложных, объемных и уникальных по оформлению и режиссерской концепции спектаклей во всем репертуаре театра. На челябинской сцене знаменитая опера Шарля Гуно получила современную трактовку.

Режиссер оставляет для зрителя простор во временном восприятии сюжета. На протяжении спектакля герои побывают и в аду современного мира, и в пространстве абсолютного безвременья, лишенного характерных красок какой-то определенной эпохи.

Спектакль впечатляет и многоуровневой сценографией. На сцене – здание шириной 14 метров и высотой более 7 метров с полом, потолком и стенами. Сложнейшие декорации трансформируются то в постапокалиптическое пространство, то в рыночную площадь, то в ад.

Опера «Фауст» – это мистическая и иносказательная притча, в центре которой философский смысл сюжета и завораживающая музыка Шарля Гуно.

«Фауст» Василевой обживает странное, причудливое пространство: кажется, это храм, старинный, католический, с каменными готическими химерами наподобие парижских с Нотр-Дам, но очевидно, что его сакральная функция давно утрачена… Режиссеру удается сочетать умеренную актуализацию и классичность подхода, заключающуюся в том, что, несмотря на экстравагантность, неординарность некоторых решений, неожиданность тех или иных ходов, в целом Василева остается верной замыслу авторов оперы. Это все тот же «Фауст» Гете – Гуно, с его философскими вопросами, с противостоянием добра и зла, с его романтикой и мистикой».
