Four seasons on a summer evening. Sarah Chang and the Tonkunstler Orchestra open the 13th Grafenegg Festival with Antonio Vivaldi's masterpiece. In addition, a long-forgotten work will be rediscovered: In Victorian times, Mendelssohn Bartholdy's hymn "Hör mein Bitten, Herr" was one of the most frequently performed works - the Finnish soprano Camilla Nylund will interpret this hymn. Igor Stravinsky's "Symphony of the Psalms" will be heard to match. Lyrically based on Mendelssohn, it is a modern recourse to Vivaldi's Baroque era. Composer in Residence Peter Ruzicka contributes the traditional opening fanfare.
