A beautiful new interpretation of Beethoven's only opera about tyranny and the fight for freedom. About strong characters, invincible conjugal fidelity and hope. In Fidelio, the female protagonist, Leonore, changes identities and, as the male 'Fidelio', risks everything to free her lover from a deep dungeon.

The Reisopera developed this opera production together with Der Kongelige Opera (Copenhagen) and Teatr Wielki (Warsaw).

Beethoven shook up the musical world order, and his only opera Fidelio bears his strong signature. The music embraces the depths of despair and ecstatic hope of the soul, and the roles require extraordinary singing voices. The internationally renowned Dutch soprano Kelly God stars in the role of Leonore.
