The only opera by the important composer Ludwig van Beethoven has received three different versions, and three separate premieres. However, only the last one, from 1814, on which the composer worked for 12 years, gained general admiration and was accepted by the European opera audience. The story, set in a prison environment, emphasizes the human right to freedom of thought, to the space of free decision. It speaks of the will that governs our worlds, of its view of itself, and of the fragility into which human life is clothed. Opera Fidelio is one of the basic pillars of opera literature of the 19th century and gives us the opportunity to meet a well-known symphonist during an unexpected conversation.
