Fidelio - trailer (Moravské divadlo Olomouc)

Beethoven's Fidelio is a unique work by one of the most ingenious composers ever. The first version of the opera premiered in 1805, its final form was born nine years later. The story of the brave Leonora, who sets out to fight evil to save her wrongfully imprisoned husband, is a celebration of love and at the same time a depiction of a sharp clash of idealism with reality. In Fideli, Beethoven defends the suffering and oppressed with the mighty power of his music. He opposes manipulators for whom morality or respect for man is just an empty phrase and who extend their power to subdue others and abuse them to their advantage. In this sense, the message of Ludwig van Beethoven's only opera continues to be relevant today. We present the opera to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the author's birth.
