Oratorio / OrchestralConcert
Oratorio / OrchestralConcert
Between two Czech specialties is a large-scale Austrian work, which is also a rare guest in concert halls. Dvořák, Bruckner, Janáček - creators of the 19th century and the turn of the century. A patriotic symphonic piece and two church opuses. The concert gives the opportunity for the National Philharmonic Orchestra to perform together with the National Choir, the conductor, János Kovács, is not only at home in all genres, but also a particularly understanding interpreter of vocal music due to his vast experience in opera. Josef Kajetán Tyl is a Czech playwright, the author of the Czech national anthem: František Ferdinand Šamberk's drama is about him. Dvořák wrote accompanying music for this in 1881/82 – the Hazám Overture is part of it. Wagner's follower Anton Bruckner was a symphony composer, but he also composed liturgical works: the most successful of these is Te Deum (1885). Janáček's Glagolitic (Old Slavic) mass (1926) with its special sound and harmony is considered the apotheosis of the Pan-Slavic idea. Polina Pasztircsák, Atala Schöck, Attila Fekete and István Kovács are top-notch singers who, in addition to their operatic successes, often appear on the concert stage as well. János Kovács (1951) is one of the busiest Hungarian conductors. He was a student of András Kórodi at the Budapest Academy of Music. He has long and close ties to the Hungarian State Opera House and the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. His collaboration with the National Philharmonic has also been fruitful for many decades.
