Emmanuelle Haïm conducts the Concert d'Astrée in Idoménée by Campra, directed by Àlex Ollé from La Fura dels Baus, with Eva Zaïcik, Tassis Christoyannis, Samuel Boden, Hélène Carpentier...

 Concert given on October 02, 2021 at 6 p.m. at the Lille Opera.
 Remember: last season we were waiting for the return of Idoménée, a masterpiece of French Baroque opera that we had hardly been able to see on stage.  since the 18th century!  True to his promise, he came to Lille.  but in an intimate, minimalist version, cut out for the vagaries of a particular period.  A luxury for the authors and performers of the show, who were able to work a year in advance, as in a laboratory, under the watchful eye of the public.  On the strength of this preparation, the King of Crete can finally return under full sail: the Catalan Àlex Ollé, captain not long ago of a phenomenal Flying Dutchman, signs the staging here, responding with the explosive follies of the Fura dels Baus to the old excesses of baroque machines.  With, of course, Emmanuelle Haïm in a repertoire that is her natural habitat.  Known above all for his motets and his splendid requiem, André Campra deploys all his dramaturgical talent here, offering the orchestra a full role in the drama, to tell Venus unleashing her gusts with the powerful help of Neptune, while Éole breathes at the top of his lungs.  But, in the heart of the storm, will there still be hope for men for a little love?
