“In the White Horse Inn on Wolfgangsee, happiness is just around the corner” - but before each individual has found his or her own, things get turbulent! With the arrival of numerous holidaymakers, the love carousel also really gets going. The pay waiter Leopold is immortal but hopelessly in love with Josepha, the landlady of the hotel “Im Weiße Rössl”. She, on the other hand, raves about the loyal regular guest Dr. Settler, for whom she always reserves the best room. This year, however, the deeply offended Leopold quartered the grumpy Berlin factory owner Giesecke and his daughter Ottilie there. He quickly finds a new source of excitement, because with Sigismund Sülzheimer, the son of his opponent appears on the scene. The tight-fisted Professor Hinzelmann and his daughter Klärchen finally complete the holiday group and the couples find each other with sometimes shy, sometimes daring flirting maneuvers in the outdoor pool or on the mountain peak. Even Leopold can win the heart of his proud beloved in the end. Happy ending in the Salzkammergut!
Alternating between Viennese humor, alpine joie de vivre and Berlin cheekiness, the White Horse Inn invites you to laugh heartily as well as to reflect. With a lot of swing, well-known melodies and touching dialogues, Ralph Benatzky's popular revue operetta is entertaining pleasure for the whole family! Even if the Corona-compliant 90-minute version has to do without the hordes of tourists represented by the choir, a brightly colored, wonderfully kitschy and catchy operetta evening is guaranteed.
