27:20- Anton Bruckner: Symphony No. 4 in E-flat major ("Romantic") "For God's sake, you paint the devil on the wall!". Such was the reaction of Gustav Mahler's wife Alma to the composition of his "Kindertotenlieder" based on texts from Friedrich Rückert's collection of poems of the same name. A short time later, their daughter Maria Anna died and Mahler confessed: "Now I could no longer have written the songs." Anton Bruckner himself gave his Symphony No. 4 the nickname "Romantic". On the border between High and Late Romanticism, where the style of the time was to change and finally dissolve, Anton Bruckner once again evoked the originality of the Romantic spirit with his fourth symphony.
